Bill served as an attorney in the Office of Opinion Writing at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. He moved on to private practice in corporate transactions and securities with the Boston, Massachusetts, firm of Nutter, McClennen & Fish. Bill subsequently joined a major retail company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where he served as a member of the board of directors and an officer and general counsel for some nineteen years.

Bill serves as Of Counsel to Daar & Newman.
