Daar & Newman’s transactional attorneys work with clients on commercial business transactions and to develop, design, organize and form businesses. They have extensive experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and leveraged buyouts.
Among our transactional attorneys are the former General Counsel of a publicly traded insurance company and the former General Counsel of a publicly traded retail chain. Two of our attorneys were formerly staff counsel to the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.

The firm’s litigators and transactional attorneys specialize in matters requiring regulatory approval, insurance coverage, insurance insolvency, agents and brokers, and title insurance. For example, Daar & Newman was engaged as counsel in the leveraged buyout of the nation’s largest domestic title insurer and the acquisition of domestic insurers as part of the merger of two of London’s largest insurance brokers. The firm also played a major role in the largest insurance insolvency in history, representing several municipalities.
Daar & Newman serves as panel counsel for several national and multinational insurers and reinsurers. These clients and others have placed the firm on their liability, property/casualty, inland marine, fidelity insurance and special investigations unit panels for claims, first and third party litigation, coverage matters, and the defense of complex claims and insurance bad faith.
